Google has announced that its famous search engine will soon be equipped with an AI mode, enabling users to ask a question in natural language and receive a comprehensive answer, complete with links to relevant content.
On users' screens, this will translate into a new "AI Mode” option to the left of the All, News, Images, etc. menu. It allows you to obtain comprehensive answers to questions formulated in natural language. These answers are presented in the form of a summary produced by Google's Gemini artificial intelligence, followed by useful links.
The idea is to be able to ask complex questions, to delve deeper into a subject. This solution is intended, for example, for questions requiring in-depth exploration or even comparison.
At present, this new AI Mode is only available on a trial basis, for Google One AI Premium subscribers to test in Labs. Google obviously plans to gradually extend access to this new feature to everyone.
This new feature comes as no surprise, since Google CEO Sundar Pichai recently stated that the search engine will soon be able to answer more complex questions, thanks precisely to artificial intelligence. The aim is to improve the user experience by answering increasingly complex queries, as already available on other platforms.
This announcement comes at a time of heightened competition, with the development of increasingly successful alternative search engines such as Perplexity.
This AI-powered search engine provides a comprehensive response to complex queries, using different forms of content if required (text, photos, videos, etc.). This tool also provides a link to all the sources used. For its part, ChatGPT now offers all its users a web search function, enabling them to obtain extremely detailed answers. – AFP Relaxnews
