Bob Lay
Bob Lay is a seasoned Digital Marketing and AI Trainer, Consultant, and Digital Entrepreneur with over 25 years of experience in media production and more than 9 years in digital marketing and... entrepreneurship. He is dedicated to empowering entrepreneurs and MSMEs through practical, results-driven digital and AI-enabled strategies.
He began his career in media production and was involved in a landmark Malaysia–China interactive TV project that raised USD 2 million from international investors. He later became part of the pioneer team of NTV7 and served as Head of Audio Visual at BERNAMA, building strong foundations in strategic communication and content leadership.
Bob has held senior commercial roles, including Sales General Manager at Purple Cane, where he led revenue growth and sales transformation initiatives. As a core member of the Digital Marketing Networks team, he contributed to the development and commercialisation of professional training programmes for corporates, SMEs, and public-sector organisations.
He has worked with leading brands such as P&G, Celcom, Coca-Cola, Tupperware Malaysia, ICAEW Global, Karcher, SME Bank, and others, and has helped clients win major industry recognition, including Best Use of Digital Media at the Malaysia Media Awards 2015.
Bob has delivered training in AI for Sales and Marketing, AI for Productivity, and AI for Manufacturing for organisations including Jotun, Northern Heart Hospital, HICOM, MMHE, PH World Property and many others. His programmes focus on practical AI application, sales enablement, marketing productivity, business process improvement, and workplace implementation.
As an Alibaba Global Initiatives Trainer and Alibaba Cloud Academy Trainer, Bob integrates AI, cloud, and ecosystem thinking into entrepreneurship and digital transformation programmes. As an MDEC eUsahawan Trainer, he has guided MSMEs to achieve over 270% sales growth within one year.
He currently serves as a part-time lecturer at Wawasan Open University and a trainer at AirAsia Academy and AccessTrade. Bob remains committed to developing future-ready entrepreneurs and professionals for the AI-powered digital economy.
