KPJ enhances patient services with AI-powered chatbot

KUALA LUMPUR: KPJ Healthcare Bhd (KPJ) has introduced a new artificial intelligence (AI)-powered chatbot to enhance patient services across its 30 specialist hospitals, including the newly-opened KPJ Kuala Selangor.

The chatbot, designed to provide 24/7 responses to frequently asked questions, specialist details and appointment scheduling, aims to deliver faster, more convenient access to information and services.

KPJ president and managing director Chin Keat Chyuan said with the chatbot, its hospitals are now able to deliver timely and accurate information to support the broader goal of building a smarter, more connected healthcare system.

Chin added that the initiative forms part of its ongoing digital transformation agenda to strengthen patient engagement and improve healthcare delivery nationwide.

The chatbot was developed in collaboration with IBM Malaysia and its business partner GlobeOSS.

It uses IBM watsonx technologies to power natural language processing and intelligent response capabilities.
